The Dead Sea is said to be so full of minerals that covering yourself in mud will make you look ten years younger – or so they say. A fair warning to teenagers: Don’t go in there unless you intend to come out a toddler.
Lots of high-end cosmetics are made from Dead Sea minerals and are relatively expensive, which is why my sister grew overly excited when I told her our hotel had Dead Sea soaps, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and body wash to stock their bathrooms.
And yes, I kind of tried the mud thing too, a bit. You can’t let it stand for very long because the salt bites at your skin, and you don’t even have to have open wounds to feel it.
So did I look ten years younger?
Well.. after rolling in the mud, I did feel like I was a child again.
